Relax Under the Stars with Fall 2011 Planetarium Awareness Week, Dec. 12-15

Exams have you stressed? Then relax under the stars as a Finals Week tradition continues with our fifth Planetarium Awareness Week! The Kika Silva Pla Planetarium at Santa Fe College will offer daily planetarium shows during finals week, Monday, Dec. 12-Thursday, Dec. 15. The show offerings will vary a little each day, so check the schedule below for details.

With the recent confirmation of Kepler-22b (an extrasolar planet in the “goldilocks zone” around another star), we’re showing an updated version of “Extreme Planets,” which talks more about the Kepler space telescope’s mission of planetary discovery.

“Planetarium Awareness Week is a great way to unwind between exams, and it gives our community an opportunity to experience a unique feature of Santa Fe College,” said James Albury, planetarium coordinator. “We’re presenting our shows in the afternoon hours so that young people from K to 12 can attend.”

For this special event, admission for each show is just $5 for adults, $4 for senior citizens (ages 60 and up) and children (ages 4 to 12). Children ages 3 and under are admitted for  FREE, and if you have a valid SF College ID, you also receive free admission.
