UF Offers Online Agroecology Degree
A new online Agroecology Master of Science program is being offered through the University of Florida‘s College of Agricultural and Life Sciences beginning Fall, 2012.
This is the first online program of its kind in the U.S. and is offered through a joint collaboration of the Agronomy and Soil & Water Science Departments. This program is a diverse, interdisciplinary program with a core curriculum of crop, soil and water science courses that emphasize sustainability, resource management, valuation of ecosystem services, system productivity and profitability.
Graduates of the program can find jobs in areas such as:
- Crop consulting
- State and federal agriculture and environmental agencies
- Non-governmental agencies and organizations
- Agricultural firms
- County extension
- Soil & water conservation organizations
