Healthcare Career Opportunities Forum for African-American Men March 14

Santa Fe College has a shortage of African-American men in Health Sciences training programs. Jobs in health sciences can lead to outstanding salaries, employability and opportunities for advancement. SF will hold a forum from 6:30 – 8 p.m. Thursday, March 14 at Abiding Faith Christian Church, 6529 NW 39th Ave., to continue a community dialogue to clarify the immense value of these careers.

A panel of African-American male healthcare professionals and current students in various Health Sciences programs will tell their inspirational stories on the road to professional and academic success. Additionally, Pastor John Cowart, former associate vice president of SF, will discuss the traits of the successful college student.

The programs represented at the forum will be Cardiovascular Technology, Dental (Hygiene and Assisting), Nursing (RN, LPN and Assistive), Nuclear Medicine Technology, Radiography and Respiratory Care.

The program is open to all, especially African-American males of all ages.
