SF Bands Perform at Spring Arts Festival April 6

The Santa Fe College Big Band, Jazz Combo, Rhythm & Blues band and faculty Jazz Octet will perform Saturday, April 6 at the Spring Arts Festival. The music  begins at noon downtown on the Thomas Center stage (on NE 1st Street).

The SF Big Band, which will head to Switzerland in July to perform in the famous Montreux Jazz Festival, will begin at noon. They will be followed by the Jazz Combo at 12:30 p.m., which will play Horace Silver’s “Sister Sadie” and “The Preacher.” At 1 p.m., the Rhythm & Blues band will play tunes from Aretha Franklin (“Respect” and “Chain of Fools”). The faculty Jazz Octet will wrap up at 1:30 p.m. with Horace Silver’s “Song for My Father,” John Coltrane’s “Blue Train” and the famous jazz standard “All of Me.”
