Successful women in Information Technology #1

This is the first in a series of posts about successful women in technology.  Through these posts we hope to show that all computer scientists are not total geeks.  Technology is everywhere and computer scientists and information technology professionals are needed in all professions, working just about everywhere you can imagine.  So take a few minutes to watch this video, and think about whether you know someone who might be interested in pursuing an incredibly exciting, versatile and creative career in technology.

If so, recommend they take a look at the really cool programs available in Santa Fe’s Information Technology Education program.

“The best advice I can give for someone coming into the field who may be intimidated by the fact that they’re going to stand out, is to own that you’re going to stand out.”

Christina Forney, an Internal Tools Engineer at Palantir, builds software tools to help her colleagues build and distribute their projects. These tools help build a strong foundation of build infrastructure usable by her company’s community of developers. You would never guess that this awesome coder also doubles as an animal lover, riding horses and studying animal science throughout her undergraduate years! Mixing equestrianism and build systems, Christina pursues all her passions to the fullest.
