Local families need your help this holiday season

Many families in Alachua County depend on the Free/Reduced Lunch Program for their children’s breakfast and lunch each day. The Alachua County Public Schools Winter Break Food Drive helps these families by providing an assortment of food items for winter break (December 22 – January 2), including items for a holiday meal. Last year the SF family contributed over 50 completed boxes to the food drive, plus additional items and cash donations. In total, over 800 area families were helped by this project.

If your department would like to participate this year, you can pick up a box and the list of requested items from Heather Domin in F-42 next to the cashier’s office. You can find he list of items needed here. If you prefer to donate cash, instructions are included on the list.

Please bring completed boxes to the Robertson Administration Building lobby by Friday, Dec. 12. Boxes will be collected by ACPS that morning. If you wish to contribute individual items, you can drop them off at the same location. Together we can help make the holidays bright for every family in Alachua County this year.
