Welcome back from the friendly staff Today@SF

Welcome back! As we begin fall term, here are a few helpful tips from Today@SF.

The editorial staff at Today@SF welcomes your submissions. We are especially looking for articles that highlight the wonderful things our faculty and staff are doing, exciting advancements occurring on campus and at the centers, and anything that may be of particular interest to the media. To submit an article to Today@SF, fill out the online form at http://www.sfcollege.edu/ccs/project-requests/submit-to-todaysf/index.

If you would like to advertise an upcoming event, you are welcome to include it in the online calendar. To add your event to the online calendar, you may request calendar access by emailing onlinecalendar@sfcollege.edu. Once your request for access is processed, you will be able to add your items to the calendar.

When writing your Today@SF article or crafting a calendar submission, be sure to follow the guidelines in the SF Style Guide, which begins on page 16 of the SF Brand Book.

For calendar events and Today@SF articles, if you are promoting an event that may occur outside of an employee’s normal work hours or might not be directly related to an employee’s job duties, you must include the following statement or your event will not be approved for the online calendar and your article will not appear in Today@SF.

“Activities that are college-related but are not directly related to a non-exempt employee’s primary job duties are considered voluntary and, therefore, are not compensable when participation is at the sole discretion of the non-exempt employee and the activity occurs outside of the employee’s normal work hours.”
