Santa Fe College Human Resources would like to introduce you to Shelly Varnedoe, the newest member of the HR Compensation Team. She replaces Lola Christian, who was recently promoted to HR Employment Manager. Shelly is a proud Santa Fe College student and joins us from BBVA Compass. Please join us in welcoming Shelly to the Santa Fe College family.
“My passion for helping people started with my first job in high school bagging groceries at Publix,” Shelly said. “My passion showed in my work and within a year I had moved up to cashier and then customer service staff.”
After five years with Publix, Shelly decided to transition into banking and that is what she has done for the last eight years. Banking allowed her to build upon her customer service knowledge from Publix and taught her the value of building relationships.
“During my career in banking, I was introduced to Human Resources,” Shelly said. “This introduction served as the spark of inspiration that led me to Santa Fe College as a student and now as an employee.”
Shelly has been working toward her bachelor’s degree at SF for the last two years.
“I have enjoyed being a student here and the education I have received and now I am excited to be a member of the team here as well,” Shelly added. “I look forward to working with and serving the faculty and staff here at Santa Fe College!”
