One Canned Good for admission to Santa Fe College Zoo’s “Boo at the Zoo” event, October 31, 2016

Halloween is just around the corner and the Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo is gearing up for our annual Boo at the Zoo event. If you’re looking for a fun, family friendly venue to take your kids trick-or-treating, then this event is perfect for you and your little ones. The zoo will be closed from 9 a.m.  until 3 p.m. on October 31st while we transform the trails into 14 themed areas with candy stations.

Student zookeepers play a crucial role in creating a Halloween wonderland where you can take a journey to Neverland, explore Jurassic Park and take a selfie with Woody and Buzz. The festivities continue outside of the zoo with performances of  “Thriller” by Danscompany of Gainesville, games and food and refreshments provided for a small fee by Domino’s Pizza. Not only will your family have a blast meeting their favorite characters and collecting treats, but you will also be making a huge contribution to the community.

Admission to the event is one canned good per person and cans collected are donated to Catholic Charities and Santa Fe Harvest, Santa Fe College’s campus food bank. We have donated over 5,000 canned goods each year from the event, feeding families in need in the community.

Bring the whole family down in costume with your canned food items to the Teaching Zoo on Monday, October 31st from 3 p .m  to 7:30 p.m. Superheroes, princesses, and pirates welcome!
