SF FASTPITCH SAINTS SPLIT WITH SOUTH FLORIDA STATE

Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints (6-4) went on the road Saturday afternoon and finished with a split against South Florida State College, dropping game one 4-3 and winning game two 6-4.

SFSC scored the first two runs of game one in the first inning off starting pitcher Alison Sievers but the Saints bounced back for two runs in the third to tie the game 2-2.

The Panthers didn’t allow the game to stay tied for long, pushing across to runs in the bottom of the third.  SF would get one back in the fifth, but it would not be enough as they dropped the game 4-3.

Evelyn Arguelles and Natalia Bellinger had two hits each.

Game two was an extra inning affair that went to the eighth with the score tied at 2-2.  The Saints exploded in the top of the eighth for four runs, more than enough to hang on 6-4.

Haissette Escuerdo finished 3-for-5, Adrix Paradizo was 2-for-2, and Cassandra Garcia had three RBI.

The Saints will be on the road tomorrow at Eastern Florida State College for a double header at 1 p.m.
