Gainesville, FL – The FCSAA Tournament bound Santa Fe College Saints (31-18, 14-10 MFC) offense was on full display Thursday afternoon in their final Mid-Florida Conference double header against Lake Sumter State College.  SF scored 25 runs in the double header, needing just 10 offensive innings to do so.  They hit five homeruns, including two by freshman Charlene Contreras and a grand slam by sophomore Shailynn Morales.

Five Santa Fe College Saints drove in multiple runs in game one as they pulled away early and closed out the victory in five innings.  Two runs in the first, two in the second, and two more in the third made it a 6-0 lead. In the bottom of the fourth SF put three runs on the board quickly and then pinch hitter Cindy Benson put an exclamation point on the victory.

Santa Fe College had 11 hits as a team in the first game.  Morales was 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI and two runs scored.  Adrix Paradizo-Ramos and Haissette Escudero were each 2-for-3 with two RBI, Cassandra Garcia was 1-for-2 with a homer and two runs scored, and Contreras finished 2-for-3 with a homerun and a RBI.  The homerun was her first hit of the season.

Kaylan Tucker pitched all five innings to earn the victory.

The Lakehawks took an early lead in game two thanks to a two-run error and a wild pitch for the 3-0 lead after the top half of the first.  Santa Fe College answered with two runs in the first and blew the game open with five in the third. Morales drilled a two out grand slam to turn the tide.

The SF Saints put another run on the board in the sixth and ended the game with three in the sixth for their second straight mercy rule victory.

SF racked up 13 more hits, including a 2-for-3, five RBI day for Morales. Contreras homered again, going 1-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBI. Bailee Moll was 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs, and Escudero was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
