April 17, 2017 – SF BASEBALL

Gainesville, FL – At 3 p.m. on April 17, the 2017 Santa Fe College Saints baseball team took SF Field for the final time this season.  Coach Johnny Wiggs recognized the SF Saints players that were playing their last home game at SF College with a special ceremony.  Employees were invited to attend the start of the game to help honor this amazing group of young men.

Many of the sophomores have been at Santa Fe College for two years and have helped lead the SF Saints to 42-10 record last year – along with a Mid-Florida Conference Championship and a FCSAA State Championship – and a 33-11 record this year, an impressive 75-21 overall record, making them the winningest sophomore class in SF Saints baseball history.

The returning players who played both years at SF include: Troy Bacon, Stephen Smith, Anthony Auletta, Dillon Reed, Chris Hopkins, Wyatt Meisterhans, Ricky Miranda, Kyle Phillips, Robert Girgis, Alex Goebel, Brandon Hernandez, Matt Quicuti and Kyle Morton.

Transfers to the team this year include: Zuriel Collins, Sean Gabel, Leo Rodriguez and Danny DiMare.
