Urgent Notice: Santa Fe River Expected to Crest

September 13, 2017 – Santa Fe College President, Jackson Sasser, shared with faculty/staff and students that the Florida Department of Transportation expects the Santa Fe River to crest late Wednesday evening, Sept. 13. Alachua County is currently making plans for mandatory evacuations of the flood areas. Please refer to the Florida Traffic and Commuter Information website to see the latest updates on road closures. Several shelters will open for evacuees along the flood zone area – list can be viewed at the Alachua County Emergency Management Facebook announcement and Alachua County Emergency Management Website.

With roads closed and traffic rerouted, other areas in Alachua County will be impacted with additional traffic, fuel shortages, and delayed food and provisions deliveries. President Sasser encourages you to be prepared.
