SF Opens Men’s Basketball Season with 116-46 Win Over Impact Academy

November 2, 2017 – The Santa Fe Saints opened the 2017-18 season in style Wednesday, outscoring Impact Academy by 70 points, 116-46. Eight players scored in double figures, led by Jake Dawkins 15.

“It was good to play someone else and get a game under our belts,” said SF Coach Chris Mowry. “Our guys did a nice job tonight not letting up in the second half. They played hard for 40 minutes.”

The game was never in question as the Saints (1-0) jumped out to a 20-2 lead five minutes into the game and led 55-23 at the half.

Every player on the active roster scored at least four points in route to the 116-46 win. Scoring in double figures were Dawkins (15), Brady Fernandes (14) D-Juan Taylor-Hodge (13), Ivan Smith (13), Darrell Jones (11), Malik Morrow (11), Elias Eerikinharju (10), and Sean Flood (10). Lazar Djurovic added eight points and Sam Brown had four.

“I was happy to see everyone play meaningful minutes and get on the score sheet,” said Mowry. “We will get back after it in practice and get ready to play a tough, athletic ASA Miami team Saturday.”

The Saints game against ASA Miami will take place at the SF Gym Saturday at 4 p.m.
