Santa Fe College Wins Big at AFC Conference

November 9, 2017 – Santa Fe College received plenty of attention at the Association of Florida College’s conference. The conference, which was held in Palm Harbor Oct. 31 – Nov. 3, saw SF faculty, staff and entire departments receive awards and recognitions.

SF Philosophy professor Eugenio Zaldivar was named a finalist for the Professor of the Year competition. Debbie Blair, who serves on the Community Service Project was recognized for a project that sent needed supplies to the Florida Keys.

Carol Pugh received a platinum award on behalf of the SF Chapter Book, and Debi McElroy was honored as the SF Unsung Hero.

The Communications and Creative Services team received a total of nine awards covering campaigns, website, advertising, social media and more.

Tom Mason received the Leadership Service Award, while Harold Gertner presented at the conference on adult ed. and career classes.

Santa Fe College was also honored with a 2017 Chancellor’s Best Practice Award for a new four-pronged financial aid campaign designed to reduce student loan debt.
