Eastern Florida Defeats SF Women’s Team 76-61

November 22, 2017 – Eastern Florida State College picked up their fifth win of the season Tuesday in Gainesville, defeating Santa Fe College 76-61. The strength of their victory came in the paint, where they out rebounded the Saints 55-22.

“We aren’t going to win any games where we are outrebounded by that much,” said SF Coach Chanda Stebbins. “We have to make it more difficult for the other team to get second chance opportunities, and we have to start creating some for ourselves.”

Despite the struggles rebounding, FCSAA #9 SF (4-3) kept themselves in the game by taking care of the ball. They turned it over only 10 times and forced 24.

Stephanie Jackson led SF offensively, scoring 22 points. Julie Fournier also finished in double figures with 12 points, and Ivana Boyd had eight rebounds for the Saints.

The Saints will return to the court after Thanksgiving with a home game against South Georgia Tech Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 6 p.m.
