Saints Basketball Teams Hope to End Skids this Weekend Published on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017

December 7, 2017 – Both Santa Fe Saints basketball teams will try to end losing streaks this weekend.

The men’s team will host the Florida Colleges Shootout, playing against State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota Saturday, Dec. 9, and Broward College Sunday, Dec. 10. Both games are scheduled for 11 a.m. start times. The Saints have fallen on some hard times after a hot start to the season. SF has dropped four games in a row, all away from the friendly confines of the SF gym. Overall, the Saints are 6-5 on the season, including a perfect 5-0 record for the home fans.

The women’s team will also try to get back on track but will have to do so on the road and against a pair of school from out of state. The Saints will play in the Pensacola State Classic this weekend with games against Wayne County Community College (Michigan) Friday, Dec. 8, at 4:30 p.m. and Roxbury Community College (Massachusetts) Saturday, Dec. 9, at 1 p.m. Much like the men’s team, the Saints started the season strong, going 4-1, before hitting a five-game losing streak. The road doesn’t get any easier for SF, as the women’s team will only have one home game in the month of December, and just three home games over a 39-day stretch that continues into the new year.
