BASEBALL AND FASTPITCH BOTH RANKED #2 IN THE STATE

Gainesville, FL - The Santa Fe College baseball team and the fastpitch team have been ranked #2 in the Florida Community College Activities Association preseason "Coaches Polls", released earlier today.  Chipola College is #1 in the baseball poll and Florida State College-Jacksonville is #1 in fastpitch.  The baseball team received the most first place votes of any team, with seven.

Coach Johnny Wiggs and the defending State Champion baseball team open their season on Friday, January 29 when Hillsborough Community College makes the trip to Gainesville for a game at 2:30pm.

Coach Chris Ahern (pictured) and the five time defending Mid-Florida Conference champion fastpitch softball team start their season on the road in Clearwater at the JUCO Classic on January 30.  The tournament takes place at the Eddie C. Moore Complex.  The Saints will play Hillsborough CC at 11:00am, Gulf Coast CC at 3:30pm and Tallahassee CC at 6:00pm.
