Media have made a public records request of the College to disclose information about employees’ salaries, and as required by Florida law we are in the process of complying with their request.
In keeping with our Human Resources’ practice of trying to notify employees when public records requests are made that affect them, we are hereby informing you that your name, date of hire, salary and department may be disclosed by the College on or about September 30, 2011.
In rare cases, Florida law exempts from disclosure certain information when circumstances are documented by an employee. One example of this is Florida Statute §119.071 and there may be others that apply as well.
If you feel that some of your information may be exempt from disclosure, please provide a written request to Linda Sweet, HR Compensation Manager, stating the reason for the exemption and the specific statutory authority supporting it.
Please respond by Tuesday, September 27, 2011, if you wish for your request to be considered before the salary information is disclosed.
