You are invited to the 2012 Edition of the Annual Lunar Celebrations presented by Santa Fe College 3 p.m. – 10 p.m. Saturday, April 7 at the Kika Silva Pla Planetarium. Pick up your FREE admission tickets at the Moon Table for your chance to win free planetarium show tickets.
Take a look through the galaxy with our telescope to view Venus, Jupiter, and Mars or even watch the moon rise.
Children are welcome. Santa Fe will be conducting interactive children’s activities related to astronomy and arts and crafts; we’ll help them make planets, stars, galaxies, space masks, flying saucers and more. Children are sure to love our Campo del Cielo meteorite interactive activity, as well.
If you stick around long enough, you may even win FREE tickets to a special planetarium showing of Music 360: Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon.
Want to learn more about space shuttles, NASA or the moon? Clear your schedule from 3 P.M.-10 P.M. Saturday, April 7 and meet us around X Building at the Kika Silva Pla Planetarium.
Use your hands to make masterpieces out of cardboard, glitter and pipe cleaners. Use your eyes to watch astro photos, view maps and see posters. Use your ears to listen to lunar observer Bob O’Connell share information on lunar lore, the secret of the Egg Moon and Easter, lunar phases and blue moons; listen to retired NASA engineer Bill Helms share a special story on the 40th anniversaries of Apollo 16 and Apollo 17. Use your mind to take in all the opportunities, beauty and glory of this event! For more information, please contact Dr. Sally Hoffman at 352-395-5354.
