The Office of Admissions is pleased to announce that Darrius Demps has joined the staff as Admissions/Orientation Specialist. He comes to us from the University of Florida where he was an Outreach Freshman Admissions Officer, Local Outreach Coordinator and Shadow Day Coordinator.
As Admissions/Orientation Specialist, Demps will be responsible for coordination of New Student Orientation and serve as an admissions adviser.
Demps is no stranger to Santa Fe College. As a student here from 2003 to 2005, he was involved in Black Student Union, played intramural basketball and worked in AA Academic Advisement. He graduated in 2005 with an A.A. in Business Administration. Demps transferred to UF and went on to earn a B.S. and M.S. in Food Resource Economics.
Demps said he wanted to return to Santa Fe in order to help more students achieve their educational goals.
“Most of the students here remind me of myself when I was their age,” Demps said. “I know my experiences as a student and professional will be of great assistance to the students on this campus.”
