February 19, 2018 – The Santa Fe Saints Fastpitch softball team went 4-0 over the weekend homestand, defeating South Florida State College Friday night at St. Petersburg College Saturday.
In Friday’s action, Kaylan Tucker pitched a shutout while Emily Yakel hit an early two-run home run, as the Saints cruised to a 4-0 victory. In the nightcap, Jamie Adams picked up the win, as the Saints defeated SFSC 7-1.
Saturday’s games, were much closer, as SF picked up a pair of one-run wins against SPC. Bailee Moll knocked in the game winning run in the eighth inning of game one and the Saints earned the 5-4 win. The final game of the weekend saw the Saints win 4-3, thanks in part to a two-run home run off the bat of Haissette Escudero.
The Saints are now 13-5-1 on the season and are riding a four-game winning streak. Their next games will be Thursday, Feb. 22, at St. Petersburg College. SF will be on the road for their next six contests, before returning home Thursday, March 1.
