SF Mourns the Loss of Linda Sweet

SF mourns the loss of retiree Linda Sweet, who was killed in a car accident on Williston Road, Saturday, Aug. 31.

September 6, 2019 – The Human Resources and Payroll departments are mourning the loss of former colleague and Santa Fe College retiree, Linda Sweet, who was involved in a tragic automobile accident Saturday, Aug. 31, that claimed her life as well as the lives of her husband and son. Linda joined the Human Resources department in January of 2004 and retired in October of 2013 as the Compensation Manager. Prior to coming to SF, she was employed by the Levy County School Board Human Resources department for 23 years. During her time at the college, she was an amazing resource who was always willing to teach others and help by using her rich Human Resources experience to serve the faculty, staff and students of the college.

She is remembered by many as someone with an immense heart and desire to help people. She is also known for adventurous spirit that kept her constantly on the go with camping trips and cruises. She loved crafting but most of all Linda is remembered for her immense love for her husband, children and grandchildren. She was always very involved with and proud of her grandchildren, some of whom called her “Sweet Grandma”.

She will always be fondly remembered by her SF family and our sympathies go out to her entire family as they deal with this sudden and tragic loss. We are not aware of any arrangements at this time.
