Deferments
Federal Pell Grant awards and accepted Federal Direct Loans will create fee deferments to maintain your class schedule beyond the fees due date of August 5th. You can accept loans by selecting your “Borrowing Plan” within the financial aid portal.
Florida Bright Futures Scholarships
These awards are expected to be visible in the financial aid portal and available to defer student fees by the end of next week (August 2nd). Should complications arise, students will receive fee postponements to maintain their enrollment.
Institutional Scholarships
The 2024-2025 Santa Fe College General Scholarship application is available. Once the scholarship committees make their award decisions and receive vice-president approval, these awards will be available to defer student’s fees.
Submitted Documents
Some students may have submitted documentation related to:
- Federal Verification
- Provisional Independent Status
- Unaccompanied Homeless Youth Status
- Professional Judgment
- Citizen or Eligible Non-Citizen Status
Currently, Federal systems where students’ FAFSAs are updated and corrected are not functioning properly. The Financial Aid Office must process updates and corrections to complete the review of these documents and update students’ eligibility.
Clock Hour Vocational Programs
While the Financial Aid Office transitions systems, generating financial aid offers for existing students in vocational certificate programs measured in clock/contact hours may be unavailable. Those currently enrolled in the impacted programs can contact the Financial Aid Office to request a postponement of fees.
New students in these programs can view their financial aid offer in their financial aid portal.
Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Appeals
SAP appeals will be made available in the coming days. Reviewing these submissions will be prioritized once the form is accessible. New students to SF are not impacted, as their SAP will be calculated at the end of their first term.
