August 29, 2024 – The U.S. Department of Education announced potential delays in processing Federal Pell Grants, which may impact the timing of student refunds. However, these delays will not affect your class schedule or your ability to attend classes.

In response, Santa Fe College has extended book charging to Thursday, Sept. 12. This extension allows eligible students additional time to purchase course materials at the Santa Fe College bookstore without waiting for their financial aid refund.

To be eligible for book charging, you must:

  • Authorize book charging: Log in to eSantaFe, navigate to the Finances Menu, and click on FA Authorizations. Complete the authorization process.

  • Have excess financial aid: After your tuition and fees are covered, there must be remaining financial aid funds available for course materials. If your financial aid package includes student loans, they must be accepted, and all required loan documents must be completed for these funds to be used for book charging.

Eligible students will be notified in eSantaFe when their bookstore line of credit is available. To see the amount you can charge, go to the Finances Menu in eSantaFe and select “Book Charging.” Keep in mind that any previous purchases of course materials using this method will reduce the amount you can charge during this extended period.

If you’re experiencing delays in obtaining your course materials, reach out to your instructors. They may offer alternative ways for you to access the necessary materials. Some textbooks are available to use in the Tyree Library at the Reserve Desk on the first floor. For financial concerns beyond purchasing your course materials, visit SF’s emergency resources page for details on emergency financial assistance and support services.

We appreciate your understanding and are committed to supporting your success at Santa Fe College.
