September 25, 2024 – Teri McClellan is set to retire after nearly 30 years of dedicated service with the Santa Fe College Office for Advancement. Her retirement celebration will take place on Monday, Oct. 14, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Jackson N. Sasser Fine Arts Hall, marking her last day on campus before her official retirement on Jan. 15, 2025. Refreshments will be served during the event.
Teri has had a remarkable career at SF, beginning as an accountant and rising to the role of Assistant Vice President for Advancement. She has worked with three Santa Fe College presidents (Larry Tyree, Jackson Sasser, and Paul Broadie) and both vice presidents for the Development and Advancement departments, Harvey Sharron and Chuck Clemons.
Throughout her tenure, she organized significant events, including the college’s annual Convocation, President’s Gala, and Women of Distinction Award ceremony, while also leading the marketing and communications team for the last decade. Her contributions extend to supporting the development of all SF satellite centers built since 1995.
“I love special events because they bring students, faculty and donors together in one place,” Teri said. “I’ve been extremely happy here and my experience allowed me to grow personally and professionally in many areas, including being a fundraiser which is something I never imagined.”
In recognition of her exceptional work, Teri received SF’s Women of Distinction Award in March 2024, particularly for her efforts in establishing scholarships for women seeking education and training. Carrie Lee, President of the Santa Fe College Foundation, highlighted Teri’s role in creating six scholarships that are transforming lives.
Reflecting on her career, Teri said, “It’s all about the students.”
