Planetarium: Music 360 – “Gustav Holst’s ‘The Planets’”

13 May 2023 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Join us for an immersive journey of sight and sound as you experience the majesty of Gustav Holst’s orchestral suite “The Planets”, while visiting the planets of our Solar System. Gustav Holst wrote “The Planets” between 1914 and 1916 and each movement of the suite is named after a planet of the Solar System and its corresponding astrological character as defined by Holst.

Using the planetarium’s sound system and state of the art simulation software, we will land on the surface of Mercury, fly through the canyons on Mars, and glide through the rings of Saturn; all while enjoying this seven movement suite. So prepare to be inspired like never before and experience our solar system in a whole new way!

(Note: Unlike our evening Music 360 shows, admission for this show is the standard Adult, Child/Senior, Santa Fe College affiliate rate).

Show length: short version = 30 minutes, long version = 51 minutes

Seating Capacity: 60 people
