Godshall and Yeckring Named NJCAA Academic All-Americans

Gainesville, FL – Two members of the 2009 Santa Fe College State Championship and National Runner-up baseball team, have been named National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) Academic All-Americans.

Sophomore shortstop Alex Godshall (Distinguished Academic All-American) and sophomore third baseman Travis Yeckring (Academic All-American) were honored by the NJCAA for their academic success during the 2008-09 school year.

To be considered for the honor of Academic All-American, a student athlete must have at least a 3.60 GPA. Distinguished Academic All-Americans must have at least a 3.80 GPA.

Godshall will continue his education and playing career at prestigious Columbia University, an Ivy League School in New York City.

Yeckring will stay in his hometown of Gainesville and attend the University of Florida.
