In celebration of Women’s History Month, every year Santa Fe College honors women who have made significant contributions in Alachua or Bradford County.
Nominees for Women of Distinction should have demonstrated unique achievements in business, industry, science, environment, medicine, education, government, social services, human rights, history, sports, agriculture or humanities in either county.
Nominees for Woman of Promise should be 16-21 years of age and have demonstrated character, achievement and leadership in Alachua or Bradford County.
To nominate a woman for these prestigious awards please mail a form by Nov. 3, 2009.
Finalists are chosen by a bi-county panel of judges and the women are honored at a luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 2, 2010 at the Hilton University of Florida.
