The 2010 Alternative Spring Break is a departmental program sponsored by the Office of Community Service, Student Government, and Student Life.
The Office of Community Service will be taking 18 Santa Fe College students and two advisors to Washington, D.C., March 6-12, 2010.
Students will volunteer at the Food n’ Friends facility to prepare food for HIV and cancer patiesnt; beautify a children’s playgrounds; feed the homelss; volunteer for veterans; meet with members of Congress; and visit Washington landmarks.
Applications are available online. All applications must be submitted to S-147 no later than 5 p.m. on Dec. 11. Participants will be notified of their acceptance no later than Jan. 25.
A $150 deposit will be due by Dec. 15 for all interested applicants. (Monies will be returned to applicants not selected.)
