LANITA BARTLEY NAMED NJCAA NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK, FCCAA STATE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Gainesville, FL – Santa Fe College point guard Lanita Bartley has been named the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I “National Player of the Week” and the Florida Community College Activities Association “State Player of the Week”  for her efforts during the week of December 28 – January 3.

For the week, Bartley scored in double figures all four games, averaging 16.8 points, 7.3 rebounds and five assists per game.

Against Middle Georgia College on January 2, Bartley became only the second player in school history to record a triple double when she scored 23 points, pulled down 11 rebounds and dished out 10 assists.  She fell only three steals shy of the program’s first quadruple double.

Bartley followed up her triple double with a double double on January 3 against South Georgia Tech, scoring 17 points to go with 10 rebounds.

Earlier in the week during the Best Western Gateway Grand Shootout, she scored 10 points against NJCAA #7 Pensacola JC on December 29 and 17 points against NJCAA #1 Gulf Coast College on December 30.
