Santa Fe College Takes Center Stage with “Stars Night Out”

Enjoy a night of exuberance as Santa Fe College’s Fine Arts department presents the 3rd Annual “Stars Night Out.”

Two benefit performances will be held at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Feb. 26 and 27, in the Building E, Auditorium Theater on Santa Fe’s Northwest campus, 3000 NW 83rd St., Gainesville (32606).

The evening will showcase the top students of theater, dance, music and art.

Santa Fe’s dancers will perform a new piece choreographed by Santa Fe’s new dance professor and choreographer Rodney Brown.

Actors will roam the stage presenting monologues and scenes from the popular “Travelin’,” an award-winning production directed by Terry Klenk.

Musical performances will include an Italian aria, Big Band jazz, a solo Mozart flute concerto, bagpipes and recent works by the SF Percussion Collective.

The gala will close with a musical theater performance of “Celebrate” that includes singers, dancers, actors and musicians, all directed by veteran Broadway performer Brian Brooks.

Tickets for the event are being produced with special student artwork on each, and two lucky ticket holders will win an original piece of art by either SF Emeritus Professor of Art Sue Jester or local artist Paul Newman.

A reception will follow both performances. Proceeds from the benefit will support the Fine Arts program.

Tickets are $15 general admission, $25 limited VIP tickets, and free for SF students and are on sale on campus in Building E, room 127. Call (352) 395-5310.
