FINAL REGULAR SEASON GAMES ON WEDNESDAY; FACULTY OF THE YEAR HONORED
Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints men’s and women’s basketball teams will be in action on Wednesday night for their last regular season games of the year. Coach Chanda Stebbins and the women will start things off at 6:00pm against Florida State College-Jacksonville and Coach Chris Mowry and the men will play FSC-J at 8:00pm.
The women (17-9, 6-2 MFC) have already clinched their second straight Mid-Florida Conference title and will compete in the FCCAA State Tournament on March 4-6 in Marianna.
The men (15-11, 3-4 MFC) will play a MFC Tournament first round game at home on Monday, February 22 at 7:00pm. Should they win that game, they will play again on February 23 against the winner of the other MFC Tournament game. The winner of the game on February 23 will earn a spot in the FCCAA State Tournament.
During halftime of both games on February 17, the 2009-2010 “Faculty of the Year” winners, as selected by the four teams, will be presented with their awards. Men’s basketball and baseball will present during halftime of the women’s game and fastpitch softball and women’s basketball will present during halftime of the men’s game. The winners:
