SANTA FE OUTSCORES PASCO HERNANDO 25-3 IN TWO GAME SWEEP
New Port Richey, FL – The Santa Fe Saints (9-2) had no trouble with Pasco Hernando CC on Friday night, easily sweeping a double header from the Conquistadors.
Colena Lazar (5-0) pitched game one and allowed only one hit and one unearned run to stay undefeated and win her fifth game of the season. Allie Short pitched one inning in relief.
The Saints collected 13 hits in the five inning game. Gia Tomossone finished 3-for-4 with a double, three RBI and a run, Taylor Pangilinan (pictured) was 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs and Britany Doty finished 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI. Alexis Sowell hit two doubles in the game and Jaimee Vega had a double.
In game two the Saints picked up where they left off, pounding out 19 hits in the 12-2 victory. Jasmine Warren (5-1) pitched the first two innings of the five inning game to collect the win, Colesa Lazar pitched the third and fourth innings and Sarah Swarthout made her first appearance of the year, throwing the final inning.
Lawna Hunter led the offense, going 2-for-3 with her first homerun of the year, three RBI and two runs. Pangilinan (6-for-8 overall) had her second straight three hit game (3-for-4) with a double, triple, two RBI and three runs, Vega was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two runs, Sowell finished 2-for-5, Venica Brown was 3-for-3 with two RBI and two doubles and Britany Doty had a double and a triple.
The red-hot Saints will play three more games tomorrow in Clearwater at St. Petersburg College. The first game is at 11:00am against Indian River State College, game two is at 1:00pm against St. Pete and they will wrap things up against Polk State College at 5:30pm.
