KEEPING UP WITH THE SAINTS AT THE STATE TOURNAMENT
Gainesville, FL – The six time defending Mid-Florida Conference Champion Santa Fe Saints are heading to the FCCAA/NJCAA Region VIII State Tournament in Auburndale on April 30 – May 2 and it’s easy to follow along live with all the action, even if you can’t make the trip.
For the first time in the history of the tournament, every game will be broadcast live on streaming video at www.psblive.com (Windows Media Player is required to view the games). The 12:00pm and 5:00pm Saints’ games on Friday, April 30 will also be broadcast live on 95.7 FM Gainesville, with Mike Ridaught doing play-by-play.
For the fans attending the tournament, all games will be played at the Auburndale Softball Complex. The address to the complex is 299 Citrus Showcase Blvd., Auburndale, FL 33823. However, if you use Mapquest/Google Maps or a GPS device, that address won’t work. Enter the address for the Auburndale Speedway which is 5640 State Road 542 W, Winter Haven, FL 33880. Turn onto Citrus Showcase and the Speedway will be on your right. Go past the Speedway and there is a big grass parking lot across from the softball complex. Parking is free. No outside food or drinks are allowed in the park.
Admission to the tournament is $20 for a three day pass, $10 for an individual day pass and $5 for the championship game.
The Saints play Lake Sumter CC on Friday at 12:00pm and win or lose play a second round game against a team to be determined at 5:00pm. Santa Fe swept the four game season series against the Lakers, outscoring them 26-4 in the process.
Full tournament information and brackets can be found here: http://www.flccaa.org/fccaa-softball-tournament.html.
