Green Halloween at Boo at the Zoo

Green Halloween at Boo at the Zoo

The U.S. Green Building Council’s Heart of Florida Chapter is proud to partner with Boo at the Zoo at Santa Fe College, 3-7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, for an awesome family Halloween event.

Green Halloween® is intended to showcase groups and companies committed to sustainable living. Green living educational activities, games and prizes will be available to entertain kids of all ages.

The chapter’s mission is to promote the design, construction and operation of buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live, learn, work and play.

This part of Florida is blessed to have abundant environmental assets including many natural springs, parks, farms and a focus on healthy living. Green Halloween will feature the following learning activities for adults and kids:

  • Demos of what’s going on with renewable energy production in our area
  • Puzzles that show what makes a product or building material green
  • How buildings are being sustainably designed for a better future for our children
  • Organic farm and gardening demonstrations for children
  • Cinema Verde will present a children’s environmental film at 4 and 5:30 p.m.
  • UF’s Greek and building design communities will feature green education games for the entire family
