Terrevio Newman wants to go to Ghana on a Santa Fe College study abroad. He knows that he is going to have to raise some funds to get there.
Terrevio has developed a website, titled “Help Terrevio Go To Ghana,” to do just that. It is an innovative way to raise money for something he feels strongly about. He has included a personal plea, a breakdown of expenses and activities and photos from the Santa Fe trip to Ghana last year. There is a handy link to the Pay Pal payment method, so the complete transaction can be completed online. As the website states, “Any donation amount helps, even a dollar.”
Terrevio is an outstanding student. He is a sophomore majoring in Exercise and Sports Medicine. He is also an enlisted service member in the United States Navy and an active reservist while attending school.
Terrevio says, “In Ghana, I want to explore the land of my ancestors, visit new places, and focus specifically on serving others in need. In Ghana we will be doing philanthropy work and each person will be mentoring groups of children as well as using the background of our majors in college to do community services.”
