COLENA LAZAR NAMED FCCAA STATE PITCHER OF THE WEEK
FCCAA Softball Pitcher of the Week (Feb. 14-20) Colena Lazar, Santa Fe Sophomore – Dade City, Fla.
Santa Fe College’s Colena Lazar is this week’s FCCAA Softball Pitcher of the Week. Lazar, a sophomore from Dade City, Fla., was 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA, three complete games and two shutouts in three outings last week.
Against Tallahassee on February 15, she tossed a two-hit shutout and struck out 16 batters in game one. She almost matched that effort two days later against St. Petersburg, tossing a complete game two-hitter and allowing an unearned run while striking out 14 batters. In her final outing of the week, she no-hit South Florida on February 19, striking out nine more to end the week with 39 strikeouts in only one innings pitched.
