SF WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
SAINTS BATTLE NORTHWEST FLORIDA IN FSCAA FINAL FOUR AT 7:00PM EST
Marianna, FL – Coach Chanda Stebbins and the women’s basketball team defeated Miami Dade in the FSCAA State Tournament first round on March 2 and in the process earned a match-up with Panhandle Conference power Northwest Florida State tonight, March 4 at 6:00PM CST (7:00PM EST). This will be the first final four appearance for the team since the 1985-86 season.
The Raiders narrowly defeated SF 52-47 in their only match-up of the season on November 26 in Niceville.
The Saints won their FSCAA first round match-up in dominating fashion, 62-47, holding the Sharks of Miami Dade to 27% shooting from the field. Kristien Malone led the Saints offense with 15 points and 11 rebounds, Leandra King had 12 points, 11 rebounds and seven blocked shots and Jasmine Richardson scored five points and had a game high 14 rebounds. Jazmyne Green and Demisha Mills finished with eight points each. SF dominated the boards, outrebounding the Sharks 59-39.
