SAINTS DEFEAT CCF 10-4 TO COMPLETE FOUR GAME SEASON SWEEP
Ocala, FL – The NJCAA #3/FCSAA #1 Santa Fe Saints won a lightning shortened five inning game on Wednesday afternoon in Ocala against the College of Central Florida, piling up 11 runs in the victory.
Chris Lee started on the mound and pitched 3.2 innings, surrendering four runs (two earned) on five hits with three strikeouts. Jarrod Carlton picked up the win, pitching 1.1 innings of scoreless ball.
The Saints (35-8-1, 18-5 MFC) jumped on the Patriots early, scoring three runs in the first inning on RBI singles by Jake Huxtable and Trey Griffin and an error by the CCF centerfielder.
SF put four more runs on the board in the third on an RBI single Garrett Greenwell, a wild pitch and a two run homerun by Zach Taylor.
Santa Fe put the game away in the fourth, scoring once on a passed ball, an RBI single by Greenwell and a sac fly by Tim Remes.
Trey Griffin finished the game 4-for-4 with an RBI, Jake Huxtable was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Andrew Grifol was 2-for-3, Garrett Greenwell 2-for-3 with two RBI and Zach Taylor was 1-for-3 with a homerun and two RBI.
The Saints wrap up their regular season on Friday, April 22 on the road at Daytona State College when they take on the Falcons at 2:00 PM.
