Finals Stress Relief = Planetarium Awareness Week, April 26-29

Exams have you stressed? Then relax under the stars as a Finals Week tradition continues with the fourth annual Planetarium Awareness Week! Enjoy daily planteraium shows at the Kika Silva Pla Planetarium, Tuesday-Friday, April 26-29. The show offerings will vary a little each day, so check the schedule below for details and visit the planetarium’s website for show descriptions. (Each show seats 60 and is 25 minutes.)

A new show, “Space Shuttle: On the Wings of a Dream,” debuts this week. It takes the audience on a trip back through the storied history of how the Space Shuttle became an international icon for space travel. This 25-minute, full-dome planetarium show covers significant events and milestones during NASA’s Space Shuttle program as well as highlights the shuttle’s contributions to astronomy.  It’s a “must see” for every Space Shuttle enthusiast!

“Planetarium Awareness Week is a great way to unwind between exams and it gives our community an opportunity to experience a unique feature of Santa Fe College,” said James Albury, planteraium coordinator. “This time we’re having most of our shows in the afternoons  so that young people from kindergarten through high school can attend.”

For this special event, general admission for each show is just $5 for adults, $4 for senior citizens (ages 60 plus) and children (ages 4-12). Children ages 3 and under are FREE. Those with a SF student or employee ID are admitted for free.
