Stop Into the Student Life Art Gallery for Views of Our Area

Kudos to Krista Froiseth, the person behind the series of interesting art shows in the Student Life Art Gallery in S-141. When she isn’t organizing artwork, Krista works in Student Life’s finance department.

Her most recent project is a photography exhibit/competition, “EXPOSURE: Focus – Alachua and Bradford,” a juried exhibit aiming to bring a rich visual sample of where we live, work and play – Alachua and Bradford counties – to campus.

The photos are grouped into student and faculty/staff categories. Each boasts a description that includes where it was taken, in case it inspires a vist. There are lots of photos of Paynes Prairie (by Teresa Lanier), and both natural and manmade swamps (UF).

The students are voting on their favorites; the deadline to “vote” is Tuesday, Sept. 6, and the show’s opening mixer is noon-1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7. The show will be up through Oct. 28.
