“Sweet Deception” is a new art and research showcase featuring the work of Tobacco Free Alachua SWATs, sponsored by the Alachua County Health Department.
Students from Alachua County high schools photographed candy-flavored tobacco products sold locally, then used the photographs to conduct interviews that documented local residents’ perceptions of how these produces may appeal to youth.
The showcase is free and open to the public, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. from Sept. 15-Oct. 20 at the Blount Center in downtown Gainesville. To view the photo gallery and quotes, click here.
