SF WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
MONROE DEFEATS SAINTS, 67-61
Marianna, FL – The Santa Fe Saints (0-5) dropped their fifth straight to start the 2011-12 season, but were again in the game down the stretch. Monroe College led 32-26 at the half and held on in the second period to win 67-61.
Sophomore guard Stephenie Coney led SF with 18 points, six rebounds and four assists. Freshman guard Alexis Fitts chipped in 14 points.
The Saints will try to earn their first win of the year on Friday, November 18 when they take on Brevard CC at 4:00 PM in Ocala at the Central Florida Shootout. The next home game is on November 21 against Gulf Coast State College at 6:00 PM.
