Spring Convocation will highlight our guests, two New York Times editors, who are at the center of a national initiative aimed specifically at our students. We begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 6 in the Fine Arts Hall. This convocation will feature several renowned professionals and topics of importance, hopefully of interest to all of us. Someone in our audience will be surprised with the first College Service Award for extraordinary service.
Our new state leader, Chancellor Randy Hanna, will bring greetings and offer his support for our college. Dr. Jerry Johnston, who brought home the Association of Florida Colleges Professor of the Year Award, will demonstrate his winning presentation and share his inspiring teaching methods.
I will report on our critical initiatives. There will be a presentation on sexual harassment that will leave no doubt about what it is and what the college’s unequivocal position is on this matter.
I look forward to seeing you at this important beginning of 2012.
