The Saints (3-0) pulled off a doubleheader win against the South Georgia College Tigers on Sunday, completing a three game sweep of the 2011 JuCo World Series participants. Both games were scheduled for seven innings. SF won game one 8-4 in 10 innings and finished the day with a 16-2 victory in seven innings.
The FCSAA #5 Saints (2-1) played three top ten FCSAA teams on Saturday at the JUCO Kickoff Classic and came out on top of two of the contests, defeating #9 Polk State College and #7 Gulf Coast State College. The loss came at the hands of the defending state champion #6 Miami-Dade College Sharks.
A strong defensive effort and a run late in the first half were enough to propel the FCSAA #4 Saints past Daytona State College 66-45 on Saturday afternoon, moving the Saints to 19-3 overall and a conference best 5-1 in the MFC.
The Saints struggled against the Daytona State Falcons on Saturday afternoon, falling 66-50 to drop SF to 7-17 overall and 1-5 in the Mid-Florida Conference.
