Jessa Carpenter from the Office of Civic Engagement and Service is looking for an advisor to join her on the Alternative Spring Break Trip to Hiawassee, Fla. The best candidate would be a staff or faculty member who is interested in the topics of sustainability, food politics, and hunger and who is approved to drive for the college. There will be 12 students and two advisors and the trip dates are March 4-9.
Each advisor will drive a Santa Fe College vehicle up to Atlanta, then to Hiawassee, and back to Gainesville. We will be going to a beautiful mountain retreat with hiking trails and waterfalls and the trip is highly educational, not a work trip.
