HOLMES NAMED FCSAA PLAYER OF THE WEEK – FEB. 13-19
Gainesville, FL – Santa Fe College’s Brian Holmes is this week’s FCSAA Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Holmes, a sophomore from Sanford, Fla., averaged 20.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals in two games as the Saints kept pace in the race for the Mid-Florida Conference Championship.
Against Daytona State on February 15, he hit 9-of-16 from the floor, including 5-of-11 three-pointers, en route to a 27-point night. Three days later, he hit all three of his three-point attempts and was 5-of-7 from the floor, scoring 13 points in the Saints’ victory.
For the week, Holmes shot 60.9 percent (14-of-23) from the floor, 57.1 percent (8-of-14) from the three-point line and hit all four of his free throw attempts.
