Gainesville, FL – The Santa Fe Saints (7-11) fell 3-1 in the first game of a double header against Hillsborough CC, but bounced back for a 3-0 shutout win in game two.  Amber Richardson scattered four hits in the second game, striking out two and walking just one in route to her second win of the year.

Santa Fe took an early 1-0 lead in the third inning of game one, but it was short lived as the Hawks answered with a run in the fourth and two in the seventh to secure the win.

The Saints pounded out five hits, including a 2-for-3 performance by freshman right fielder Paige Sandiford.  Karla Claudio Rivera (3-2) took the loss in the circle.

Game two was a different story as SF scored one in the third on a double by Sandiford, another on a squeeze bunt by Bianca Torres in the fourth and a third run in the sixth on a deep double by Erika Garcia.  Three runs were more than enough for Richardson (2-3) and a stout Santa Fe defense.

Karla Claudio Rivera, Paige Sandiford, Bianca Torres and Erika Garcia each collected a hit for the Saints.

Santa Fe continues at home on Saturday, March 3 when they welcome the Polk State College Eagles to Gainesville for a double header scheduled for 1:00 PM.
