The forum held March 2, “Increasing African American Males awareness to enter Healthcare professions” was a huge success. Dr. McBride invited Santa Fe College representatives, Scott Fortner and Paul Stephan to participate in an open forum at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Dr. McBride was the keynote speaker whose message “to fight the fight” resonated with the audience. Following Dr. McBride’s presentation, a panelist of current students and graduates working in the healthcare field gave their perspective on the need to increase awareness and opportunities within the healthcare industry. The panelists discussed the commitment required to succeed in these demanding programs and illustrated the payoff, professionally and monetarily, for those who pursue healthcare professions.
